Alentejo is the name of the region immediately north of the Algarve region, and south of Lisbon area.

We often enjoy overnight trips to some of the Alentejo beautiful towns.

Évora-sleeping and eating 001

Pastry shops not to miss 😉 (cards above – you can tell we enjoyed them!)

» Pastelaria Conventual Pão de Rala, R. do Cicioso, 47, Évora, managed by d. Maria Ercília Zambujo. This is a cute, little unasuming place … with the most mouth-watering treats of the region! We always go there when around Évora…

» Pastelaria Académica, Rua da Misericórdia, 18-A, Évora

Good restaurant (tested by us):

»Restaurante Évora, Cozinha Regional, R. Serpa Pinto, nº 98, 7000-537 Évora, tel.:266 746 926

We have stayed at this little hotel – very rustic, simple decor, furniture painted Alentejo style, creaky floor boards, clean, conveniently situated in the middle of the old, historic town.  :

» Residencial O Alentejo, R. Serpa Pinto, nº74, 7000-545 Évora, tel.: 266 702 903
